IP Rotation

Deterministic and weighted IP rotation across pools, calibrated to volume, vertical and provider distribution. Rotation is a tool for reputation resilience, not a substitute for good sending practice.

Overview

IP rotation is often misunderstood. It is not a way to hide from filters — filters aggregate reputation at the domain and pool level. It is a way to spread traffic evenly across a pool, isolate per-provider throttling, and contain the blast radius of a single listing.

Northbound configures rotation at the VMTA level, with per-provider affinity where it improves outcomes (for example, pinning Gmail traffic to a subset of the pool with stable Postmaster reputation).

Questions

Does rotation improve deliverability by itself?
No. Rotation improves resilience and utilisation. Inbox placement is a function of content, list hygiene, authentication and reputation. Rotation only helps at the margins.
