Designer of the Pix-L UMPC, Jean Hong, is targeting an audience who needs to go online as soon as they wake up, hence the convenient alarm clock added to the concept. Its flip design is there to make easy browsing while lying on your stomach.
It's only a concept, but the idea could be a success once it's available. I can imagine a lot of people wanting/needing this, especially if the price is promised by Microsoft to be in the range of an Eee PC.
